The Platinum Maple Leaf is the platinum bullion coin from the Royal Canadian Mint. The coins were first introduced in 1988 and were minted until 1999 when the rising price of platinum caused demand for platinum bullion coins to fall. The coin was later minted in 2002. The series was revived once again in 2009, as one of the few world platinum bullion coins produced.
